Let’s work together
We are happy to publish your work!
Our vision & who we are
Chapbook Repository exists to give readers affordable, tangible access to poetry, short stories, and other forms of written word from around the world. At the same time, we offer writers a way to get physical with their work — without the usual fuss, cost, or risk.
It’s important to understand what we are not: We’re not a print-on-demand service, and we’re not a self-publishing company. We’re an independent publisher with a clear vision and DIY by choice.
What do you expect from us?
We publish poetry, short stories, and experimental writing as handmade chapbooks. As a publisher, we curate what we print. Our format (chapbooks) and business model (minimal warehousing, direct sales) let us take creative risks — publishing work that sits at the edges of contemporary writing or has been forgotten by the mainstream.
If we accept your work:
We won’t take editorial control. Your words remain yours.
You keep all rights — we only receive a non-exclusive right to publish the chapbook. (Authors must ensure submitted work is their own and free of third-party rights.)
We’ll collaborate on layout and cover design to make it look and feel right.
We handle production, sales, and international shipping.
Chapbooks are printed in small, variable quantities and may be featured on our website or newsletter for promotion.
Your chapbook will be sold between for €3.00 to €5.00 plus shipping.
You receive 25% of the net profits in royalties per copy sold, paid quarterly during the first week of the following quarter. Royalties are paid in euros via PayPal or via SEPA transfer (unless otherwise agreed).
Every author receives two free copies of their published chapbook. (Free copies do not generate royalties.)
You can buy author copies from us at 75% of the regular price, plus shipping. Buying author copies means you forfeit the royalties for those copies.
We also sell author copies for you under the same conditions, and you’ll receive discount codes for this purpose.
Authors copies can not be bought with or exchanged for accrued royalties.
This publishing deal can be cancelled by either party quarterly, up to one month before the quarter ends.
If your chapbook turns out to be a hit, we’re happy to talk about taking it further — perhaps into a full-length book.
